Celebrating Local Government Week 3-9 August 2015
This year Local Government Week is celebrated from 3-9 August and sees councils across NSW host a range of great events and activities to showcase their day-to-day work for the community. A highlight of the week is the Local Government Week Awards which celebrates exceptional work done by councils across the state.
Local Government Week provides the perfect opportunity to promote the importance of councils to the community including residents, ratepayers and businesses.
This year's theme 'Active All Areas' reflects the need for councils to engage with communities which may differ by age, culture and race. It also reflects the need for councils to ensure those communities have physical accessibility and support.
LGNSW has prepared some promotional material for councils to use to publicise Local Government Week events and initiatives, or contact the LGNSW events team on events@lgnsw.org.au or 02 9242 4000
