Open Data Day 2017

Event date

Open Data Day started in 2010 and is an annual celebration of open data all over the world.

Groups from around the world create local events on the day where they will use open data in their communities. It is an opportunity to show the benefits of open data and encourage the adoption of open data policies in government, business and civil society. All outputs are open for everyone to use and re-use.

In 2017, Open Data Day will focus on four key areas and how Open Data can contribute to solutions and strategies. These are:

  • Open research data
  • Tracking public money flows
  • Open Data for environment
  • Open Data for human rights

Queensland Open Data Institute (QLD ODI), hosted an event ‘Open Data: The Year Ahead’ on Thursday, 2 March. The guest presentations can be viewed on their Facebook page.
