The right to access government information is encapsulated in the UN’s Declaration of Human Rights. In NSW, we celebrate this over a week called Right to Know.

The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) supports International Day of Democracy on 15 September. This year’s theme is COVID-19: A Spotlight on Democracy.

Right to Know Week NSW is a campaign that marks International Day for Access to Information, celebrated internationally on 28 September.

Local Government Week is designed to showcase the work councils do in their local communities, including the wide variety of services they provide.
