Mandatory Notification Data Breach (MNDB) Scheme - Interactive Dashboard Reporting

The IPC publishes quarterly statistical information about eligible data breach notifications received by the Privacy Commissioner to assist NSW public sector agencies and the public to understand the operation of the MNDB Scheme.

Dashboard data is collated from data reported by agencies in accordance with the MNDB Scheme since its commencement on 28 November 2023.

The dashboard presents key statistics relating to:

  • Number of notifications received by quarter
  • Number of notifications received by sector
  • Number of notifications received by breach type
  • Number of individuals affected

This interactive dashboard allows users to select a quarter and compare that to the same period in the prior year. In some of the data charts, users can also select specific sectors to compare against all sectors. This information will assist in understanding the volume of data breaches, the number of people affected, causes and sectors under the MNDB Scheme.

Note: The MNDB Scheme commenced on 28 November 2023. FY2023 – 2024 Quarter 2 data runs from 28 November – 31 December 2023. In addition, the data reflects data that is reported at the time, and may vary slightly were an assessment of eligibility is reviewed
