Recap: Right to Know Week NSW 2025

This year’s NSW Right to Know Week (RTK) 2025 focused on the importance of data and information about the condition of ecosystems, the impact of human activities, and the planning and regulation of infrastructure and development. This includes everything from air and water quality to climate data, biodiversity, and urban planning.

Rights to access government information are an essential transparency and accountability mechanism that makes public participation meaningful. Although NSW Right to Know Week has ended, the importance of the right to seek and receive information as a universal right continues all year round.

The IPC can assist people who wish to understand how to access government-held information. Learn more in our information access resources for individuals.
