Harmony Day 2016
Harmony Day is celebrated every year on 21 March to coincide with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It is a day for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common.
The central message for Harmony Day is that ‘everyone belongs’, reinforcing the importance of inclusiveness to all Australians. This year’s theme is our diversity is our strength.
“Ninety two per cent of Australians feel a great sense of belonging to our country and we at the Information and Privacy Commission (IPC) are proud to celebrate Harmony Day which provides an opportunity for us to embrace our cultural diversity and share stories on how it makes us and our workplace stronger.” said Elizabeth Tydd, IPC CEO/ Information Commissioner.
