Practitioners Network

The NSW Right to Information/Privacy Practitioners Network meets regularly to share information about the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) and privacy matters that affect staff working in the NSW public sector.

The Network consists of those who have responsibility for, or interest in compliance with the NSW Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, and the NSW Health Records and Information Protection Act 2002 within the NSW public sector.  The membership consists of most government agencies, health services, local government and universities.

The Network meets quarterly in the NSW Parliament House Theatrette, Macquarie Street, Sydney.

The usual agenda includes group discussions (e.g. Local Government, Universities, Health and Human Services etc) reports on recent cases, legislative and other developments, and guest speakers. Representatives from the IPC always attend and the Commissioners typically address the group.
